چکیده

Graded path modalities count the number of paths satisfying a property, and generalize the existential (E) and universal (A) path modalities of CTL∗. The resulting logic is denoted GCTL∗, and is a very powerful logic since (as we show) it is equivalent, over trees, to monadic path logic. We settle the complexity of the satisfiability problem of GCTL∗, i.e., 2ExpTime-Complete, and the complexity of the model checking problem of GCTL∗, i.e., PSpace-Complete. The lower bounds already hold for CTL∗, and so we supply the upper bounds. The significance of this work is two-fold: GCTL∗ is much more expressive than CTL∗ as it adds to it a form of quantitative reasoning, and this is done at no extra cost in computational complexity.

Satisfiability and Model Checking of CTL* with Graded Path Modalities

Graded path modalities count the number of paths satisfying a property, and generalize the existential (E) and universal (A) path modalities of CTL. The resulting logic is called GCTL. We settle the complexity of satisfiability of GCTL, i.e., 2ExpTime-Complete, and the complexity of the model checking problem for GCTL, i.e., PSpace-Complete. The lower bounds already hold for CTL, and so, using ...

Model Checking for Graded CTL

Recently, complexity issues related to the decidability of the μ-calculus, when the universal and existential quantifiers are augmented with graded modalities, have been investigated by Kupfermann, Sattler and Vardi ([19]). Graded modalities refer to the use of the universal and existential quantifiers with the added capability to express the concept of at least k or all but k, for a non-negati...

Graded Alternating-Time Temporal Logic

Recently, graded modalities have been added to the semantics of two of the logics most commonly used by the computer science community: μ-calculus, in [KSV02], and Ctl in [FNP08]. In both these settings, graded modalities enrich the universal and existential quantifiers with the capability to express the concept of at least k or all but k, for a non-negative integer k. Both μ-calculus and Ctl n...

The Complexity of Graded-CTL⋆

Recently, complexity issues related to the decidability of temporal logics, such as μ-calculus and Computation Tree Logic, augmented with graded modalities, have been investigated. Of particular interest is the problem of stating whether the complexity depends on the representation chosen for the constant values grading the formulas. Kupfermann, Sattler and Vardi proved that graded mu-calculus ...
